Wes Cravens Early Films - the hills have eyes

Plot
A family break down in an air testing field not meant for the public. They find primal savages ready to attack.

Review
Though lacking the savagery and intelligence of The Last House On The Left, Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes remains an important entry in the American horror canon in its exploration of the nature of primal violence.

Pitting the classic nuclear family against the horrors of their mutant country cousins, the film echoes Tobe Hooper's superior The TexasChain Saw Massacre.

Verdict
Important, but it echoes a better film - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

released 23rd of september 2003 in empire magazine
